Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is an American actress, singer and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. Most famously, she is known for her role in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain as well as being the lead vocalist of Apollonia 6, a girl group. Apollonia is a singer/actress who was christened by Prince in 1984, became one of the female artists of the 1980s who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter half of the '70s. The first time she appeared was on CHiPS. The female lead of Prince's Purple Rain was her first part from 1984. Prince changed the girl's name in this period. The actress replaced Vanity by the female group Vanity 6 who performed in the movie in the role of Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. They scored a small hit with Sex Shooter but it was when Prince performed as his duet partner on Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she achieved a greater chart impact. Kotero broke up with Prince when they fell out over the future of Apollonia 6. The actress was featured in numerous small films, including the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon (which she did not want to be in), and then landed the lead role as Falcon Crest on the Night-Time Drama Falcon Crest from 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album came out in 1988. But the R&B/dance songs were not a huge hit by those who bought music. They soon ceased to exist. She stayed active, if not under the spotlight, as an actress during the decade following with small appearances in films and on television. A workout DVD was released. Apollonia produced a Spanish/English bilingual album titled Stay With me. After going back to college and obtaining a degree for filmmaking she started her own production business. Apollonia is an incredibly talented woman. Formerly, she was a model, singer actress and talent manager. In her capacity as an actress, she's famous for her performance in the film Purple Rain. Alongside the film, she has appeared in other TV and movies such as Black Magic Woman or The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model.
